Registrations for the George Enescu International Competition continue!

Important updates for the competitors

The recent period marked by the global political and economic crises, together with the requests received from potential candidates, have determined the extension of the Enescu Competition’s registration deadline until May 1, 2022.

Thus, the organizers of the George Enescu International Competition are supporting the young musicians who are interested in participating in this year's edition of the Competition by giving them extra time to prepare the required materials for the online round. Also, the registration fee will be reduced by 50% hoping that as many talented musicians as possible will have access to participate in the Competition. The competitors registered so far will also benefit from this discount.

The deadline for registration is May 1, 2022, for all four sections (cello, violin, piano, and composition). The conditions of participation have remained the same and registration is possible online at www.festivalenescu.ro/en. According to the Rules of the Competition, participants of all nationalities, born after August 1, 1989, can register for the 4 sections: cello, violin, piano, and composition.

The registration is done by filling in an online form, and the judging process for the first stage of the Competition will take place online by analyzing the video recording sent by the competitors. This will take place in May 2022, and the results will be announced on May 31, on the Competition’s website. For the first time in the history of the Competition, the competitors registered for violin, cello, and piano who will pass the online stage will enter directly into Semifinals.

The George Enescu International Competition, one of the most important international launching platforms for young musicians around the world, is built as a natural extension of the George Enescu Festival - the most prestigious cultural event organized by Romania. Over time, the Enescu Competition has significantly contributed to the promotion of many great artists, who have always maintained a soulful connection with Enescu and Romania.

The Enescu Competition is a cultural project financed by the Romanian Government through the Ministry of Culture
