‘A Daughter for the Weekend’ is currently being performed at TTB TÂRGOVIȘTE, a lively and surprising comedy about the tricks a married man uses to prevent his wife from finding out about his desire to cheat on her. The young woman with whom he has fallen in love and whom he invites to his home has to play the daughter from a previous marriage, a fact he has never mentioned before.

The trials and tribulations continue. The more he struggles to remain honest in the eyes of his wife, the deeper the man sinks. This struggle between clarity and the general panic that grips him is particularly comical.

I had the pleasure of watching the premiere recently and was very impressed, and not just by the rarely lavish decor of the otherwise rather spartan MC Ranin. Here, the director Mihai Țărnă, who lives in France and has been doing a good job for a long time as head of the Moldovan ‘Theatre without a Name’, is equally recognised as a filmmaker and has repeatedly caused a stir with Shakespeare, reveals himself for the first time as an expert in ‘sophisticated boulevard theatre’.

 

Țărnă catapults the actors to peak performances with enormous precision in terms of tempo, timing and tension. The fact that Constantin Tache Florescu, Lavinia Pele, Delia Lazăr, Cristina Dumitra, Corneliu Jipa, Emanuel Bighe and Antonia Ionescu love their director can be felt in every word and every gesture. They got involved with Țărnă and it was worth it!

 

In June, we are expecting the director's next Shakespeare production as a contribution to this year's BABEL festival. I'm already looking forward to it.

 

„Eine Tochter zum Wochenende“ wird gerade im TTB TÂRGOVIȘTE gegeben, eine spritzige und überraschende Komödie über die Tricks eines verheirateten Mannes, um zu verhindern, dass seine Frau von seinem Wunsch erfährt sie zu betrügen. Die junge Frau, in die er sich verliebt hat und die er zu sich nach Hause einlädt, muss die Tochter aus einer früheren Ehe spielen, eine Tatsache, die er bisher nie erwähnt hat.

Die Irrungen und Wirrungen gehen weiter. Je mehr er darum kämpft, in den Augen seiner Frau ehrlich zu bleiben, desto tiefer sinkt der Mann. Besonders komisch ist dieser Kampf zwischen Klarheit und der allgemeinen Panik, die ihn ergreift.

„Zum Glück sind Frauen oft friedlich und liebevoll und... zum Glück haben sie ihre Geheimnisse.“

 

Ich hatte die Freude, kürzlich die Premiere anzuschauen und war sehr angetan, nicht nur vom selten üppigen Dekor des sonst eher spartanischen MC Ranin. Hier entpuppt sich besonders der in Frankreich lebende Regisseur Mihai Țărnă, der als Chef des Moldauer „Theater ohne Namen“ schon lange einen guten Job macht, als Filmemacher ebenso anerkannt und immer wieder mit Shakespeare Aufsehen erregt, erstmalig als Könner in Sachen „ anspruchsvolles Boulevard-Theater“.

 

Mit einer ungeheuren Präzision der Gestaltung, in Sachen Tempo, Timing und Spannungsbögen katapultiert Țărnă die Darsteller zu Spitzenleistungen. Dass Constantin Tache Florescu, Lavinia Pele, Delia Lazăr, Cristina Dumitra, Corneliu Jipa, Emanuel Bighe, und Antonia Ionescu ihren Regisseur lieben, geht aus jedem Wort, jeder Geste hervor. Sie haben sich auf Țărnă eingelassen und das hat sich gelohnt !

 

Die nächste Shakespeare Inszenierung des Regisseurs erwarten wir im Juni als Beitrag zum diesjährigen BABEL Festival. Darauf freue ich mich.
